Olympia Inspiration: A Message from the Founder
My daughter inspired me to develop the Olympia Doll and Story Collection to introduce her to extraordinary women figures of history – specifically, the powerful goddesses of ancient mythologies. As I considered dolls that embodied strong, inspirational female figures, I found very few, leaving a gap for young girls to explore heroic doll figures who could inspire them to imagine their own strength and potential.
This led me to create this doll and story collection rooted in history and mythology, drawing from a rich tapestry of goddesses and their timeless tales that have shaped cultures across the world. These legendary figures represent the forces of nature, creation, and transformation, as the world’s original “super-heroines”, in myths that continue to resonate with us today. Their unique powers and diverse personalities have captivated generations, woven into literature, art and pop culture. These women are more than just ancient legends; they are symbols of strength, beauty, wisdom, and resilience.
Kids love superheroes because, through play, they see themselves in these characters and they imagine their own strengths, qualities, and potential. By playing with these dolls, girls can explore and discover their own inner talents. It’s through imaginative play that they can envision the qualities they admire in these legendary figures and, in turn, feel empowered to embrace their own unique abilities. I want every girl who plays with these dolls to feel confident in her individuality and unique beauty, believe in her dreams, and know that she has the power to make a difference in her own way.
This is a concept I thought about many years ago, and now I’m excited to bring these iconic heroines into the modern world and allow girls the chance to connect with their remarkable stories. The Olympia Doll and Story Collection gives girls the opportunity to explore these empowering stories and connect with the qualities that inspire them.
